WHAT TO DO
FYI: You might want to purchase a Firenze Card, which gives you 3 days of free admission into the major museums. Be sure to look into this because it might be cost effective depending on how many exhibits you're planning on visiting in a short amount of time. Also, a lot of museums have free entry on the first Sunday of the month, so be sure to check that out!
See the views: Climb all 463 steps of the Duomo or go to Plaza Michaelangelo (Piazzale Michaelangelo) for the view of a lifetime. You should go to Plaza Michaelangelo once during the day and once at night.
Duomo: Tickets for the Duomo sell out quickly day of, be sure to get there early so that you don't miss out! They offer tours and have services in English on Friday mornings. Also, the Duomo is the coolest thing in Florence (as many of our ambassadors have told us!) so please, when you first see it, give yourself some time to check it out!
Secret Bakery: Ask around, this is an experience you don't want to miss!
See the David: In the Accademia, there are other cool sculptures besides the David so be sure to check them out. Also, you have to get there early because the lines are super long.
Picnics: Florence has so many beautiful and peaceful areas to relax in. Bring a bottle of wine and sit outside in the gardens at the Pitti Palace, the Boboli Gardens or up at Piazzale Michaelangelo.

Visit the Mercato Centrale Firenze for two favorites combined: great food on the inside with shopping out the outside! The upstairs where the food was remodeled in the Spring of 2014. While you're there, you can even watch the students at the cooking school as they prepare their meals! The shops are a great place to pick up gifts for friends or souvenirs for yourself!
